Passport MIA

So I knew better but I sent my passport to Miami last Friday to give this whole legally moving to Italy thing one last try. And now it is unaccounted for. When you call the Italian consulate all you get is a voice mail and even better is that it flat out says that they will not return your phone calls. So I finally gave up and called DC to complain and see how they could help. I listen to the phone ring about 50 times before someone picked up but then they kindly gave me the Miami consulate's secretaries number. So I called them and refused to leave a voicemail; I wanted to talk to a person to get it resolved. So finally after about 4 people telling me they had not seen, a lady got on the phone and said maybe they sent it to the wrong office. I think she was American because when she spoke English there was no accent. So now I am sitting here stewing and waiting to find out where it got to. Maybe it went to the office where Italian citizens get passports? Or god knows where, boy its good to be a Mistretta? I'll report back in a little while. Fingers crossed I will get to leave the country tomorrow.

It will be interesting to see if this is kind of the way the Italians operate. Maybe you need to be prepared for things to be slower paced.
